When we learn about existing innovative solutions to recovering our local economy – solutions that work by serving a unified purpose – we're encouraging community participation and development. We create conversational and edutainment activities that will encourage sustainability within different communities in Kenya through the acceptance of CICs in exchange for goods and services. Our activities will be a platform to showcase a self-sustainable way of life that involves communities coming together to share basic necessities such as rent, food, and water to save up or curb the lack of Fiat currency. These solutions then occur with the formation of support networks that trade through these inclusive currencies, normally in the form of mobile-exchange digital tokens, to promote creative growth.

Why Support Us

I'm looking to share my story and how CIC has been a major influence in transforming my perception of money with my peers by pioneering and advocating for digital currency as an alternative exchange medium. The knowledge that money is simply a medium of exchange and not a means of living has made me more focused on creating value for myself and others. My experience of a single-economy household drives me to use digital innovations such as CICs, as a economic recovery tool towards financial independence. As the nature of digital exchanges largely depend on individual acceptance, building trust and unity through Dough Nation Events will lead to an increase in trade among different support networks.

How It Works

We plan to initiate intimate meet up sessions with different business owners to discuss the need to create economic opportunities for ourselves and our community, by sharing each other's story of resilience and how economic challenges have impacted our mental, physical, social and cultural wellbeing. Through these engagements we will Introduce the ideas for using CM to create economic resilience from within. Stories and conversations captured in these gatherings will act as podcasts for attracting funders.

As part of the implementation process, Dough Nation will provide pastries to demonstrate digital currency exchange, in addition to other unconventional exchanges such as books and clothes, as alternative payment methods. The nature of the project calls for more resources given its current backing by a new business, thus our request for outside funding or donations in form of ingredients to increase production and trading so we can attain financial sustainability with both local and digital currency exchange in future.

We will further increase our network by identifying other community members who would want the product being sold for digital tokens. Our focus will remain on community conscious individuals who are motivated to take action that will increase wellbeing for themselves, their family and community.

Values & Goals

I aspire to live in a community that promotes trust and unity by creating a space that's "less touchy" when it comes to money matters. Accepting Community Inclusion Currencies such as Sarafu and Pi, will help those within the creative sector, particularly single women/mothers, access basic needs consistently. The project will maintain its objective of invting more creatives so we can make available more prodcts and services as educational tools in unlearning money matters by accepting other unconventional payment methods such as CICs.
